Relative Consultant

The Social Administration is now looking for a temporary relative consultant. 1 position: Temporary. Full-time, start date by agreement.

About the workplace

The AST and preventive unit is a team consisting of a relative coordinator, a relative consultant, two outreach workers, a coordinator, and four assistance officers. One of our employees is going on parental leave, and we are now looking for an engaged relative consultant who wants to continue developing the support for relatives of Huddinge municipality's residents. The unit is part of the Assistance and Preventive operations responsible for preventive work and, based on applicable legislation, investigating and deciding on interventions in the areas of disabilities and elderly care. The position as a relative consultant is part of the preventive work. The office is centrally located in Huddinge center, close to commuter trains and bus stations.

About the work

The role of the relative consultant aims to prevent ill health, break isolation, contribute to relief, and highlight the situation for relatives of someone in need of care and support. The support is aimed at relatives who are 18 years or older with a close relative who is long-term ill, elderly, or has a disability.

Your tasks

In the role of relative consultant, you have an important task of guiding further to other instances and partners based on the relative's situation and needs. In the role of relative consultant, you constantly work to reach out to relatives with information about the support offered. The assignment includes the following:

• Guide relatives to the right support, both internally and externally
• Offer relatives advisory and supportive conversations, via phone, digitally, or physically
• Plan and lead relative groups and initiate activities within the relative area
• Provide external and internal information to the public, organizations, and operations in the municipality about the relative support Huddinge municipality offers
• Collaborate with municipal operations, non-profit organizations, and other networks relevant to relative support
• Follow the knowledge development within the area of relative support and implement this in the operations and follow up and evaluate the work

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant academic education that the employer deems appropriate. We prefer that you have good experience in elderly care and in the area of disabilities. You are well acquainted with the laws governing the operations and have good knowledge of the responsibilities of municipalities and other principal authorities. We are looking for someone who has the ability to create good relationships with both relatives, their close ones, colleagues, and other partners. Your ability to collaborate is very good while you largely work independently towards set goals. In the role of relative consultant, you are solution-focused and have the ability to see the whole picture. You have good planning skills, work structured, and are also flexible when required. You are comfortable independently holding presentations, information sessions, and leading both smaller and larger support groups. Questions about relative support are something you are passionate about and engage you. For a limited period, relative groups may be scheduled late afternoons/evenings, which may require some flexibility with working hours. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and previous experiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work or another relevant academic education that the employer deems appropriate
• Experience in social work within elderly care and/or the area of disabilities
• Good computer skills and ability to express yourself well in speech and writing
• Structured and clear, with the ability to organize and prioritize work

Meritorious:

• Experience in working with relative support, experience in supportive/advisory conversations
• Good knowledge and experience with authorities and health care
• Documented experience in leading discussion groups
• Advanced training in relative support, dementia, disabilities, and preventive work
• Driver's license B
